About me

  1. My journey as a wood carving artist began with my grandfather, a skilled woodworker. My fondest childhood memories revolve around spending time in his workshop, sparking a lifelong passion for the craft. In my late teens, I honed my skills at Fox and Table, a joiner's shop where I worked with large native timbers. Continuing my education, I earned my diploma with honors in carving and painting in my early twenties. Now, as a 30-year veteran, I find something magical in finding drift or salvaged wood and pouring my energy into exposing its inner beauty, creating an amalgamation of my concepts and the beauty of mother nature.

Embracing Nature

With a Pacific Island and Celtic heritage, coupled with growing up in the New Zealand of Tikana Maori, my artistic expression emphasizes nature's forms and flows, utilizing natural, repurposed, and forged materials. My focus lies in the inherent beauty of nature, creating original, hand-crafted, contemporary sculptures.
